Suspension

[!] The rear-heavy nature can lead to excessive squat under acceleration and a tendency to lift the inside rear wheel, causing traction loss.

Stiffen the rear suspension and slightly soften the front to improve turn-in and reduce rear squat. Lowering the ride height can also help.

Front Ride Height

-10

Rear Ride Height

-5

Anti-Roll Bars

[!] Understeer on entry and oversteer on exit due to rear bias.

Increase front ARB stiffness to improve turn-in response and decrease rear ARB stiffness to allow more rear compliance and reduce oversteer.

Front ARB

Rear ARB

Differential

[!] The rear-biased power delivery can make the car snap oversteer under acceleration if the diff is too aggressive.

Reduce initial torque and acceleration sensitivity to provide a smoother power delivery and prevent sudden breakaway.

Accel Sensitivity

Brakes

A slight bias towards the front is usually beneficial to counteract the rear weight bias and prevent rear lock-ups under heavy braking.

[!] Track Analysis — Yas Marina Circuit

Where and how to drive on this track for the best lap time.

Opening Complex

Downshift to 2nd for the right-hander, then back to 3rd for the exit.

Fast left-hander followed by a tight right and then a medium-speed left

Carry good speed through the initial left, brake firmly for the tight right, and aim for a late apex to maximize exit speed onto the short straight. The third corner requires a smooth transition.

Marina Hairpin Complex

Downshift to 1st for the hairpin, then up to 2nd for the exit. Shift to 3rd for the double-apex right.

Tight hairpin left followed by a double-apex right

This is a crucial overtaking zone. Brake hard and late for the hairpin, aiming for the inside apex. For the double-apex right, take a wide entry, clip the first apex, and then run wide to the second apex to carry momentum.

Final Chicane and Straight

Downshift to 3rd for the chicane, then up to 4th or 5th for the exit.

Fast left-right chicane leading onto the main straight

This section is critical for lap times. Brake late and trail brake into the left-hander, then position the car precisely for the right-hander. A clean exit is paramount to carry speed onto the long main straight.
